My Biography

My name is Luuk Terbeek, working as an Educational Consultant specialized in Learning Technology at VU Amsterdam in The Netherlands. I have a background for over a decade in the Dutch e-Learning industry and I'm a former board member of SAGANET (Simulation And Gaming Association, The Netherlands) and Ned-Moove (the Dutch Moodle user group). Currently I'm involved in projects aimed to improve the didactical use of the learning management system (Canvas). I supervise and coach teachers in (re)design, development and facilitation of Blended Learning and Online Learning programs. I'm the chair of the Education and ICT expert group of the Higher Education Team of VU Amsterdam and initiator and co-chairman of the SURF (Dutch JISC) Special Interest Group Blended Learning. Currently I'm preparing partnerships with multinationals in order to get my PhD. research on Blended Learning and Online Learning in Corporate Universities funded. My primary goal is to determine what Higher Education and Business can learn from each other in this field. As a prelude I expect to publish my first paper in 2017 which contains both a literature review of Blended Learning to investigate what we know and what we need to know about Blended Learning (also regarding future research) and a model for effective Blended Learning design and systematically research on this wonderful topic. I also own a company, De Kennistuin (The Knowledgegarden) to advice and train business customers to benefit from learning technology.
